FAQ
-
My first career started in the fashion industry. Although a lover of fashion, I found that my heart was working with people, listening to their stories, and wanting to help them in an office rather than a showroom. I finished my bachelor’s degree at NYU and my graduate work at Fordham University, receiving my master’s in counseling psychology. Over the past 20 years, I've dedicated my career to helping youth and adults at community centers, clinics, and schools (high school and colleges). I have designed and managed a treatment center at a high school for emotionally disturbed teenagers and I have provided therapy for a variety of disorders.
My experience has given me the ability to exercise good judgment and emotional stability in evaluating individuals, assessing situations, and making decisions under the pressure of unexpected and stressful events.

I help clients build a positive self-esteem and a strong self of identity through a secure therapeutic relationship that relies on trust, eventual confrontation, and coping skills that individuals can take through the rest of their lives. Working with the mind and body and offering a complete holistic experience is imperative to my practice and I help my clients learn how to regulate emotions and prevent symptoms of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and other emotional issues from taking over their lives. I use a cognitive behavioral approach, which involves addressing negative thought patterns and learning how to change those patterns in favor of positive outcomes and behaviors.
I teach my clients how to handle stress through mindfulness, relaxation techniques, guided imagery, and the regulation of emotions; I am sensitive to your whole being and someone who can draw from a wide range of methods that have been designed to enhance the way you live. I am a RYT 200 and a LifeForce Yoga® Practitioner Level 1, which is intentionally designed to work with and manage the mood. Emotional wellness is my goal for everyone.

I am continuously taking training that enhances my abilities to help clients. I love learning more so I can teach my clients to educate themselves about their behaviors and the behaviors of others. We are in a constant state of change and I believe we have to be open to new ideas and concepts at all times. Whether it’s learning how the brain evolves and works to yoga movement and breath, I'm in. I believe in respecting all theories out there as you never know what can work for an individual. The more knowledge you have, the more you can help colleagues and clients.

LifeForce Yoga is intentionally designed to work with and manage mood. The practice supports students and clients in self-regulation and many of the yoga techniques can be done in a chair, in a bed, and without a yoga mat. Most practices are evidence-based and have been adapted for clinical settings. Developed by Amy Weintraub, the practices are rooted in traditional active meditation and a self-inquiry that embraces the polarities in our lives. LifeForce Yoga interweaves the power of an ancient discipline with current scientific findings to help you release what’s no longer serving you — without a story attached!
